Vertux Gaming Setup Review - A budget-friendly way to level-up your gaming experience

Today, we are reviewing a slew of PC accessories from Vertux. We have been using it for quite some time now and here is our overall experience.

Vertux sent us a total of 6 devices. It covered the essentials of what you need for an RGB-infused gaming setup. The company sent a gaming mouse, an RGB keyboard, an RGB mouse pad, a dedicated gaming microphone, a gaming headset, and a multi-purpose headset stand.

Let's talk about the input devices first. First up, we have the Vertux Amber Pro Performance Gaming Keyboard. It is a 104-key gaming keyboard with a light yet durable polycarbonate body. It has a vibrant, four-pattern RGB backlight. It is a membrane keyboard which makes it fairly quiet yet responsive. It also features a 26-key anti-ghosting feature that ensures reliable input response, especially during intense gaming sessions.

During our usage, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Coming from a mechanical keyboard, we were expecting a huge drop in the typing experience. We were pleasantly surprised that we still enjoyed typing on this membrane keyboard. It is not as clicky as my brown Outemu switches but it is satisfying enough.

In terms of gaming, the key shapes do not interfere with sudden slides and movements. The keys are also responsive with no issues in terms of input delay or lag. The anti-ghosting feature does work as it did not have any problems with registering consecutive keystrokes. The lights are bright and vibrant which adds to the aesthetic as well as functionality in the dark.

Next, we have the Vertux Dominator Gaming Mouse. We got the Silver variant. It 5 buttons in total with the 2 side buttons, left mouse button, right mouse button, and scroll wheel button. There's a dedicated DPI button that can switch between 1,000, 1,600, 2.400, and 3,200 DPI. It also has a braided cable.

It has a lightweight build that helps against mouse fatigue during extended gaming sessions. The RGB lighting can be better as well as it usually leaks out the graphics printed on the mouse itself. The mouse buttons are clicky and responsive. Overall, the look, feel, and performance is a good balance especially for the price.

To complete the input ensemble, we have the Vertux SwiftPad-XL gaming mouse pad. This is an anti-friction gaming mouse pad in Black with RGB lighting in the edges. It has 13 lighting modes built-in as well. It measures 800 x 300 mm which is large enough to fit your 104-key keyboard and mouse. The smooth surface is also water-resistant which makes for easy cleaning.

The experience I had with SwiftPad-XL is nothing short of amazing. Personally, I have been on the hunt for durable yet smooth mouse pads for a while.

The additional RGB aesthetic it has is just a bonus. When it says anti-friction, it means it. My mouse flows through it easily making for easy head tracking when gaming and precise controls when editing photos. It also has an easy-to-clean surface which makes it safe from watermarks, dust particles, and more.

It connects via a USB-C to USB-A connector. It has a dedicated button for power and cycling through around 13 RGB presets.

Vertux Malaga Wired Gaming Headset

For the audio peripherals, we have three Vertux devices. First, there's the Vertux Malaga Wired Gaming Headset. It is an over-the-ear headset with 40mm drivers. It has leather ear cushions with mesh covers for each driver. The band is made out of a steel-reinforced material with a soft foam cushion. What we got is the Blue variants but there is a Red one as well.

For the overall audio experience, the Malaga is an OK gaming headset. It does have a stereo sound that helps in terms of directional listening in-game. However, the volume can be better as well as the clarity. Sometimes, the sound comes out a bit muffled for our taste. It can break immersion in games that rely on atmosphere and ambient sounds like Fallout 4. The mic is decent as well. My friends hear me loud and clear. However, it does pick up a lot of background noise like my mechanical keyboard.

It has a dedicated in-line control for volume and mic mute. It also came with a Y-splitter cord which is always an amazing freebie. Overall, for PHP 2,990, the Vertux Malaga can be considered decent for a starter gaming headset.

Vertux Streamer-2 microphone

Next, we have the Vertux Streamer-2 microphone. It is an Omni-Directional microphone that is designed to be on your desk. It is marketed as a good starter microphone mic for streamers. It has a flexible "gooseneck" design that is integrated into the stand itself. It is USB powered too and has a dedicated mute button.

It has a sensitivity of 26db±4dB, a frequency response of 100Hz to 10KHz, and an impedance of ≤2.2KΩ. It also has a 150cm long cable. In terms of performance, it is a bit of a hit or miss. In theory, an omnidirectional microphone on your desk should be able to pick up clear and loud audio. However, we found it hard to find the proper positioning for it without hampering our mobility when utilizing our mouse and keyboard.

My game buddies commented that my audio is soft and they have a hard time hearing me at times. It also picks up my electric fan's noise as well. But, we can imaging that this can be a great, affordable pickup for those with quiet rooms. It is a good starter mic for those looking for budget-friendly microphones.

Vertux Extent Multi-purpose headphone stand

Last, this is not actually an audio device. But it is designed to hold your audio device for you! 

The Vertux Extent Headphone Stand is a multi-purpose stand that also serves as a mouse bungee to lessen the wire clutter on your desk. It is made out of tough plastic and has RGB lighting too. It supports different kinds of mouse cables for wider support.

It has a total of three USB-A ports. It does have a power output of up to 5V/1A for powering your USB devices but it does not support file transfer. It has a one-touch LED power button. It is a good addition to your setup but can be improved with file transfer support.

Verdict

We give these Vertux the GIZGUIDE stamp of approval as affordable yet reliable peripherals. We do believe that their audio category can use some improvements though. Other than that, these are solid devices.
