nubia Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6R officially arrives in the Philippines

Along with the arrival of Red Magic 6S Pro in the Philippines, nubia also launched the Red Magic 6 and Magic 6R in the country.

Just like its fellow siblings the Red Magic 6 is also distinguished as a gaming-inspired handset. It has a Mecha Sci-Fi design using the carbon fiber texture with asymmetrical lighting in Carbon Fiber Black and Cyber Neon (Blue and Purple Gradient) as well as the Tencent logo.

It also got touch-sensitive triggers with a 400Hz touch sampling rate embedded on its body for minimizing input latency and a better assist when gaming.

At the front, It has a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a 165Hz adaptive refresh rate. It is one of the first phones in the industry to include such technology. It also offers a multi-touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz and a 500Hz on-finger touch sampling rate, as well as 10-bit color support and an in-display fingerprint reader.

Inside, it is powered with a 5nm Snapdragon 888 5G octa-core processor, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal memory. The available version here is the 12GB/128GB model.

For the battery, it uses a 5,050mAh battery capacity with 65W fast charging (0 to 100 percent in 38 minutes).

For a better temperature, this phone got an Active Air Cooling Fan with 18,000 RPM. Alongside that, they also added a copper heat sink for better cooling.

For cameras, this phone have a 64MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro triple-camera setup. For selfies, it has a single 8MP shooter.

The Red Magic 6R

Moving to the Red Magic 6R, another gaming handset from the brand but with a slimmer body (163.04 x 75.34 x 7.80 mm, 186 g) and modern and sleek-looking aesthetics available in Phantom Black, Stream Silver, White, and a limited edition color. Its body also has touch shoulder triggers with a 400Hz touch sampling rate.

In front, as the body got slimmer and so the screen becomes a tad smaller, it sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, FHD+ 2400 x 1080 resolution, and a punch-hole housing a 16MP snapper.

Features of the phone

It also boasts the same processor with 5nm Snapdragon 888 SoC, Adreno 660 GPU, and a built-in 5G modem. This comes with 6GB/8GB/12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 128GB/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The available version here would be the 8GB/128GB variant.

The battery has 4,200mAh, it may sound small but it is paired with a USB-C fast 55W charger.

Similar to most nubia gaming phones, it has a 3D cooling system as well. It uses a graphene layer, a VC liquid cooling, a thermal gel, superconducting copper foil, and a metallic mid-frame.

It is also paired with a 64MP Sony IMX682 main shooter + 8MP ultra-wide + 5MP macro + 2MP cameras.

This device also has a single Smart PA audio amp, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and dual SIM slots. It loads with RedMagic OS 4.0 based on Android 11 OS.
