Earlier, we reported that a new promising Sony camera phone is coming. Now, the Sony Xperia PRO-I is now official.

Vlogging camera phone!
As vlogging keeps on getting popular, the Sony Xperia PRO-I could be the answer to a video content creator's dream. The "I" in Xperia PRO-I stands for "Imaging" if you're wondering about it. This vlogging camera phone is the first handset outside Japan to deliver a 1.0-inch camera sensor with phase-detect autofocus.
The 1.0-inch type imager is taken straight off the Japanese company's popular RX100 VII compact camera, but it has been "optimized for a smartphone".
As we mentioned in our previous report, the Xperia PRO-I is a camera-centric smartphone. According to GSMArena, the big chunk of this phone is "20 percent larger than n the iPhone 13 Pro Max" pixels and about the same size as those from the Galaxy S21 Ultra's main camera, after binning".

The Xperia PRO-I can lock up to a subject, thanks to 315 phase-detect AF points across 90 percent of the frame. Meanwhile, the Bionz X image signal processor is in charge of handling the Xperia Pro-I video and photo processing.
In front of the Exmore RS sensor is a Zeiss-coated, stabilized 24mm lens with a variable aperture that goes from f/2.0 for the shallowest depth of field to f/4.0 for the utmost sharpness.
The Sony Xperia PRO-I has also another pair of 12MP cameras: a 16mm f/2.2 ultrawide unit and a 50mm f/2.4 2x telephoto snapper.
The handset is equipped with two physical camera controls. One is a two-stage shutter key, complete with a textured surface and professional dampening. The other is a circular shortcut button which Sony has mapped the Videography Pro app.

Moreover, the Xperia PRO-I is capable of shooting 4K video at up to 120fps for 5x slow motion. Of course, we can't forget about its 6.5-inch 4K OLED capable of 120Hz refresh rate display and a Snapdragon 888 chipset with 12GB of RAM. It is also packed with 512GB storage expandable through a microSD card and a 4,500mAh battery. According to Sony, it will come with a case, 30W charger, and a USB cable.

Note that these three are inseparable so the total overall price of owning a Sony Xperia PRO-I is EUR 2,087.99 (around PHP 122.8K). But also remember that European price tags are usually higher.
The Sony Xperia PRO-I will be available in the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Nordics in December.
There is no info if it will be available in the Philippines yet.
