Camera testing authority DxOMark earlier revealed the imaging score of the newly announced Google Pixel 6 Pro.
In comparison, its 135 score is higher than devices like iPhone 13 and 13 mini (130 points), but it is a bit lower than the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max (137 points). The current leader is still the Huawei P50 Pro with a top score of 144 points.
With a DXOMARK Camera overall score of 135 the Google Pixel 6 Pro puts Google back into the group of manufacturers that is battling it out for the smartphone camera crown, making the device, at least from an imaging point of view, the best option for Android users in the US market by surpassing the competition from Samsung and ASUS.
The testing firm added that it delivers outstanding Photo performance and great video quality. It also does very well in the zoom category.
For selfies, it is among the very best as well. It achieved Photo score of 107 points and a Video score of 95 points for an average Selfie score of 102 points. 102 is currently the 4th highest. It is noticably better than the 99 score of the iPhone 13 series.
Google achieved this feat by using improved camera sensors which includes the 50MP f/1.85 Samsung GN1 sensor w/ Dual Pixel AF, OIS + 12MP f/2.2 Sony IMX386 ultra-wide-angle camera + 48MP f/3.5 4x optical zoom + spectral and flicker sensor + LED flash.
For selfies, it is equipped with an 11MP f/2.2 Sony IMX663 94-degree wide-angle sensor.
