According to the Bloomberg report, Huawei is planning to license some of its smartphone designs to other players in order to get around the US trade ban.

One of the companies that came up is Xnova which is a unit under China Postal and Telecommunications Appliances Co. or PTAC. Another one is TD Tech Ltd. which is a Telecom equipment manufacturer. Xnova is already selling Huawei's nova devices via its website.

Licensing its designs to third-party companies, Huawei will be able to gather components such as chipsets and 5G modems.

This could also be a way to bring back Google Mobile Services to Huawei devices. However, Huawei won't be able to sell devices under its own brand name. The devices will be rebranded by third-party companies.

What do you guys think?
