Samsung announces the LPDDR5X DRAM with up to 8.5Gbps data processing speeds, 20 percent more power efficient

Samsung just announced that it already produced its next-gen 14nm-based LPDDR5X DRAM. It has faster speed, bigger capacity, and power efficiency.

Samsung's LPDDR5X DRAM features data processing speeds up to 8.5 Gbps. This is 2.1Gbps faster compared to LPDDR5's 6.4 Gbps data processing speeds. This is 1.3 times faster in terms of raw processing speeds. It is also 20 percent more power-efficient than the previous variant. It can also reach up to 64GB per memory package as well.

The LPDDR5X DRAM will have 5G, Artificial Intelligence, and metaverse in the middle of its main applications. The faster performance and power efficiency will make driving these tasks easier. In addition, Samsung aims to use LPDDR5X DRAM beyond smartphones as its high-performance, low-power design can be beneficial for servers and automobiles.

Samsung will begin working with global chipset manufacturers to release LPDDR5X technology later this year.
