Qualcomm ushers in a new era in Snapdragon's history. After being the company's star in mobile processors, Qualcomm stated that it is separating from Snapdragon. The latter will now become its own standalone brand.

Snapdragon Platforms have been used widely by different device manufacturers around the globe. There are now over 2 billion Snapdragon device users around the world. Snapdragon is designed to deliver experiences and performance that can provide great AI performance, multitasking, and gaming. Snapdragon itself has different categories it like the Snapdragon Elite Gaming Features and Snapdragon Sound Technology.

What will change after the separation you say? One, there will be "bold changes" in terms of the brand's product badge design and other logos. These will now feature new colors including Midnight, Gunmetal, Nickel, Snapdragon Red, and Gold.

In terms of naming, the Snapdragon platforms will now transition to a single-digit series and generation number. The newest flagship series will now be the Snapdragon 8-series platform. The "Gold" distinction will only be used for premium-tier Snapdragon products as well. The Snapdragon 898 will now become the Snapdragon 8 Gen1.

5G will be a staple in ALL Snapdragon-connected platforms as well according to the company. Lastly, Qualcomm's automotive portfolio will be shifted to become 100 percent Snapdragon branded with departments such as Snapdragon Ride Platform and Snapdragon Digital Chassis.
