Huawei Watch D allegedly measures blood pressure with an understrapped airbag!

The Chinese tech giant is said to be releasing the Huawei Watch D with an ECG blood pressure recorder on December 23.

With different sizes of airbags and a ruler for the wrist?

According to a source, this upcoming wearable has already passed the Drug Administration Class II medical device registration. There are talks regarding this tech as there were people who have been wondering how the watch will perform the blood pressure tracking.

There were leaks that have surfaced online, one is a video guide on how to use the blood monitoring function of Watch D. A popular tipster uploaded a video on Weibo showing a lot of information about the accessory, including memory and RAM configurations, and even color variants.

Based on the photos, the Watch D will arrive with multiple accessories such as different sizes of straps, different sizes of airbags, a charger, a user guide, and others. There's also a ruler for measuring the circumference of the user's wrist.

 

On the leaked user guide video, it seems that Huawei equipped this watch with an airbag for blood pressure monitoring. This airbag looks to be removable but must be attached under the watch strap. A small pin connects the bag with the wearable to enable the said feature.

It seems that the user needs to measure his/her circumference to match the size of the strap and the airbag. After that, the strap can be adjusted according to the scale. There's also an option to change the sizes of straps and airbags.

To measure the blood pressure, the user can start the process by double-clicking a button on the smartwatch. After that, a timer will pop up indicating that the blood pressure check is about to begin. 

The tipster claimed that the Huawei Watch D will sport 32 MB of RAM and 4 GB internal storage and can also be connected to Bluetooth headphones. In addition to that, it will allegedly come in a silver color variant of the Watch D. The source said that the expected price of this wearable is CNY 2,998.

Huawei did not confirm yet if the leaks are true so we'll have to wait for further announcement. The Watch D is currently available for registration. It is anticipated to be released during the winter product launch of the brand.
