A few weeks following its launch in China, tech giant Huawei today confirmed that the stunning P50 pocket is coming to the Philippines.

Huawei P50 Pocket Premium Edition is coming to the Philippines!

As a quick recap, P50 Pocket is the company's first clamshell-type foldable smartphone. It is boasting premium materials from the body to the internals.

Highlights of P50 Pocket

The device is using a textured back design with unique-looking vein-like patterns in Diamond White and Premium Gold colors. What's confirmed that will go official in the country is the Premium Edition with unique patterns thanks to its 3D micro-sculpture back design. This design is in collaboration with Haute Couture designer Iris Van Herpen.

This also retained the dual circle design of the P50 series on the P50 Pocket. One of the circles is housing a 1-inch circular AMOLED display that could be used to display widgets and even use several features of the P50 like taking selfies using the primary camera of the phone without using its selfie camera. The other circle is for its powerful cameras.

For the display, it has a large 6.9-inch folding main OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and FHD+ 2790 x 1188 resolution at 439 ppi. There is also a punch-hole for the 10.7MP Wide Angle selfie camera.

Inside, it is using the 4G version of the 5nm Snapdragon 888 4G processor with Adreno 660 GPU. To those who missed it, it isn't the 5G version of SD888 due to the restrictions of US to Huawei.

On the back camera parts, it is flagship grade as well. . It uses a 40MP f/1.8 26mm True-Chroma primary camera + 13MP f/2.2 13mm ultra-wide-angle camera + 32MP f/1.8 30mm Ultra Spectrum (for more details) camera. It also has Laser AF and XD Fusion Pro technology to help users focus faster and improve the overall quality of the images it will take, respectively.

Completing the specs, the device also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, and EMUI 12 out of the box.
