Redmi 10 2022 with Helio G88 chip, 90Hz screen, and NFC now official

Xiaomi today revealed another budget phone, the 2022 version of the Redmi 10.

A "new" budget phone from Xiaomi

The smartphone appears in a centered-punch hole design with slim bezels on the side and a thick chin bezel at the bottom. At the back, you'd find the quad-camera setup housed in a rectangular camera bump. The back cover on the other hand is available in three colorways namely the Sea Blue, Carbon Gray, and Pebble White.

The phone's color options

The Redmi 10 2022 features a 6.5-inch screen with FHD+ resolution, adaptive refresh rate up to 90Hz, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Inside it is powered by a 2.0GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G88 octa-core processor and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. It has two memory configurations—4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB.

Its battery has a 5,000mAh capacity with 18W fast charging support but Xiaomi will provide a 22.5W in-box charger. Also according to the mi website it has 9W reverse wired charging.

Its camera system has 4 lenses with 50MP f/1.8 as main, followed by 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 2MP f/2.4 macro, and another 2MP f/2.4 for depth shooting. For selfies, it has an 8MP f/2.0 lens.

Other features are a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and AI Face Unlock. Meanwhile, for connectivity, it has 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

For the operating system, it runs Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 12.5 skin on top.

Coming from the Redmi 10 last year, don't know what really changed here aside from the "2022" in its name and the inclusion of NFC.
