Apple is allegedly working on a new HomePod that is running tvOS and will sport a FaceTime camera.

This report comes from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman who is known to be a great source on everything Apple-related content. The new HomePod could be an amalgamation of a smart home speaker, tvOS device, and a FaceTime-ready device.

This is surprising for an Apple device. The company is known for releasing separate products to serve different functions over releasing an all-in-one solution. Now, this report seems to indicate that you will have a next-gen HomePod that could serve as a smart speaker, a smart TV box, and a FaceTime camera to turn your TV into a video conference screen.

The report also says that this new HomePod could be the main part of Apple's smart living room approach that could be supplemented by HomePod minis all throughout the rest of the house. A new HomePod mini is also expected to be announced alongside this.
