Reward points whenever you bring dry waste to collection sites

Mondelēz International is the maker of beloved snack products like Tang, Eden Cheese, Cheez Whiz, Oreo, Toblerone, and Cadbury. It aims to empower people to snack right, with the right snack, for the right moment, and with snacks made the right way. PH Country Manager for Corporate and Government Affairs of Mondelēz International Atty. Joseph Fabul shares,

We believe in sustainable snacking, where we are able to produce our delicious products while lessening our environmental footprint, including the impact of waste. We know that any waste, when not properly collected and diverted can end up in nature, particularly the oceans. That’s why we're working with organizations like BEST to help support and strengthen waste collection efforts in the country.

At the end of 2021, Mondelēz International and BEST partnered for a similar initiative where people received boxes of Cadbury Shots chocolate for the wastes they brought to collection sites. This resulted in the collection of 12,893 kilos of plastic waste alone, and the distribution of 10,800 boxes of Cadbury Shots chocolates.

The food and snack giant highlights the importance of bringing waste materials to nearby Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF) wherein they segregate them according to type and diverted it accordingly.

Unfortunately, according to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, we only have 35 percent of barangays that have operational MRFs. With this in mind, Mondelēz  International is doing what it can to solve the issue of improper waste disposal.

Beginning this April, Mondelēz International and Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies (BEST) are working together to provide drop-off sites in Metro Manila.

From April to June 2022, you can go to of the 11 BEST waste drop-off sites in Metro Manila. Click here to view the list of their addresses. The company said that you may bring dry waste from your homes like plastic, paper, metal, and others.

Note that make sure that they are clean and free from food or other materials. You may refer to this list of accepted materials at BEST sites.

By doing this, you can earn environmental points that may be used to redeem select Mondelēz International snack products as well as other items from BEST. Check out this list of prizes you can claim in exchange for your points.

Even though the promo runs for three months only, you can still bring your trash after that. Allegedly, BEST runs its waste collection activities all year long.
