Nothing Phone (1) is finally official, will launch in PH soon!

On schedule, Nothing earlier introduced its very first smartphone.
Meet Nothing Phone (1)

It's a premium mid-range device with lighting strips and plenty of major Android updates!

To recap, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei left the company last October 2021 and formed his own brand called Nothing. Now, Nothing has two products under its portfolio called the Nothing ear (1) and the newly announced Nothing Phone (1).

Nothing Phone (1) is a much-hyped mid-ranger boasting a transparent back cover with eye-catching illuminating light strips. This is called the Glyph interface with 5 lighting strips that lights up when the device receives a notification, can synchronize lights with the phone's ringtones and can show the charging progress of the device.

It is available in White or Black colorways. Nothing also claimed that it is made with recycled aluminum frame. The device has IP53 rating water and dust resistance too.

For specs, the handset is boasting a 6.55-inch Gorilla Glass 5-protected 10-bit OLED screen w/ 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, FHD+ 2404 x 1080 resolution at 409 ppi. This has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and comers with an In-Display fingerprint reader.

Inside, you will find the 2.5GHz 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ 5G octa-core processor with Hexagon 770 AI chip paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, 5W reverse wireless charging.

Nothing claimed that its 33W fast charger can fully charge the device from 0 to 100 percent in 70 minutes. The 15W wireless charging tech can fill its battery to 100 percent in 120 minutes.

At the back, the Nothing Phone (1) has an efficient dual-camera setup. The first sensor with the 50MP f/1.88 Sony IMX766 with OIS and EIS. The second sensor is the 50MP f/2.2 Samsung JN1 shooter with a 114-degree ultra-wide-angle and 4cm macro.

It is nice that they didn't other sensors for macro and depth. They didn't follow the recent trend of adding gimmicky extra 2MP cameras just to make it a triple or quad-camera setup.

One of the main features of the device is it runs with Android 12 OS with the NothingOS skin. The company claimed that this is a lightweight Android skin with 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security patches every 2 months. It also has a widget built-in that will display your NFT collection.

Digital Walker Philippines earlier told team GIZGUIDE that the device will be available in the country soon. They are still finalizing the official launch date and local SRP of the phone.
