IFA 2022: HONOR will launch a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 foldable phone globally!

At the ongoing IFA 2022 event, former HUAWEI sub-brand HONOR announced that it will launch its next-generation foldable smartphone globally.

HONOR will bring its foldable phone with MagicOS 7.0 in Q4!

The device will feature an upgraded hinge technology, the latest 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship processor, and 5,000mAh dual-core battery for longer battery life. It is expected to be thinner and lighter than previous products as well.

Based on the teaser, it will have a HUAWEI Mate-like back camera design and a P40-like front design (on smartphone mode) with a pill-shaped cutout. When unfolded, it will transform to a tablet.

Moreover, the device will feature the company's self-developed MagicOS 7.0. HONOR said that it has a dedicated R&D team exclusively for the OS.

CEO George Zhao said, 

Such improvements are what we see as the core strategic investment point for HONOR to compete in the global market in the future. In the future, MagicOS 7.0 will provide users with not only connectivity, but also security and intelligence, Zhao said. From now on, every two or three months, consumers will see our continuous innovation and products and solutions that can have a strong impact on the industry among others.

The new device and the OS will debut in Q4 2022 at its own Developers Conference.
