WIKO 10 takes on the vivo Y16!

WIKO 10 back design

Build/Design - The polycarbonate body of the WIKO 10 has a 6-layer texture pattern. Due to its hydrophobic property, the back panel is dirt- and fingerprint-proof. Additionally, it has a rectangular camera island with an upscale border. To make it appear thinner, the frame has a light, matte blended surface.

vivo Y16 back design

vivo Y16 is boasting a  modern boxy 2.5D design with fluorite texture reminiscent of shooting star patterns in Drizzling Gold or Stellar Black colors designed to withstand fingerprint smudges and even light wear and tear. It also has two circular camera islands for the dual-camera setup at the back.

Both have a notch for the selfie camera.

Display - The WIKO 10 features a 6.74-inch 2.5D curved LCD screen with HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution, and a 260 ppi pixel density.

vivo Y16 screen

The vivo Y16 has a 6.51-inch 2.5D curved LCD screen with HD+ 1600 x 720 resolution at 270 ppi pixel density.

The WIKO 10 has a slightly bigger screen but other than that both smartphones feature HD+ LCD screens at a 60Hz refresh rate. Nothing to write home about but no unexpected for the price range.

Specs - For performance, the WIKO 10 features the 2.3GHz 12nm MediaTek Helio G37 octa-core processor, PowerVR 8320 GPU, up to 4GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W WIKO SuperCharge.

vivo Y16, on the other hand, has a 2.3GHz 12nm Helio P35 octa-core processor, PowerVR 8320 GPU, 4GB RAM, up to 128GB expandable storage, and a 5,000mAh with 10W charging.

The vivo Y16's Helio P35 and WIKO 10's Helio G37 almost perform similarly. The Helio P35 scores better on synthetic benchmarks but in real-life situations, that could be negligible. The WIKO 10 has a faster 22.5 SuperCharge technology though.

WIKO 10's 50MP triple-camera system

Cameras - WIKO 10 features a triple-camera setup with 50MP f/1.8 JN1 sensor w/ PDAF + 2MP f/2.4 4cm macro 2MP f/2.4 depth + LED flash. It also has an 8MP main camera.

vivo Y16's 13MP dual-camera setup

The vivo Y16 has a dual-camera setup with 13MP f/2.2 + 2MP f/2.4 macro + LED flash. It also has 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera.

WIKO 10 absolutely takes this one by including a 50MP f/1.8 JN1 main sensor and 2 more sensors versus the Y16's 13MP with 1 extra sensor. It also has a bigger selfie sensor at 8MP.

Other features - WIKO 10 features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-band WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 BLE, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, and USB-C.

vivo Y16, on the other hand, is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual-band WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and USB-C.

WIKO 10 advantages - Bigger screen, bigger 50MP main camera, triple-camera setup, bigger selfie camera, 22.5W WIKO SuperCharge

vivo Y16 advantages - Slightly faster CPU, slightly cheaper

Our thoughts

Based on the specs for the price, WIKO 10 wins. Yes, in almost everything else both devices are tied or neck-to-neck but the WIKO 10's 50MP main camera may be its biggest selling point.

Last September, some even got the WIKO 10 on sale for just PHP 5,999.
