As per the reports, Tencent hired attorneys to contact Moonton's Indonesian partner RevivalTV just right before the MPL esports tournament.

The said lawyers seemingly claimed that they had already won the ongoing separate plagiarism case of Mobile Legends vs Riot's League of Legends even though no court ruling has been made so far.

To recall, the two MOBA makers have been at war ever since Moonton's blatant copying of the League of Legends PC.

Following a report from Jiemian, ByteDance and Moonton claimed that the remarks made by the opposing party had put them in a bad light in Indonesia and cost them losses.

The court in China finds that Tencent indeed was "out of the line" with their claims and has committed commercial slander.

The court then ordered Riot's parent company to compensate the MLBB maker with an amount of CNY 220,000 or PHP 1.8M if using direct conversion.

It is also worth mentioning that Moonton already won a previous defamation battle however today's ruling was made by the Appeals Court which makes it their second win.

As of the moment, the two-game publishers involved haven't made any statement regarding the court ruling.
