Xiaomi just announced the Redmi Writing Pad. It is a doodling/note-taking device that is not quite an Android tablet but is a smart writing pad.

Redmi Writing Pad with Stylus launches in India

It is a smart notepad with no light emitted for the screen

The Redmi Writing Pad features an 8.5-inch black LCD screen that does not emit any light. It emulated the appearance of ink on paper so there's no worry about eye fatigue. It is made out of ABS material and only weighs 90 grams.

Additionally, a pressure-sensitive stylus for the Redmi Writing Pad is included, enabling you to change between various stroke sizes to produce various hues. The stylus has a slide and attach mechanism for simple access and weighs 5 grams.

With a single push of the orange button, you can erase all of your drawings or notes from the screen. On the side of the Redmi Writing Pad, there is a one-tap lock that prevents the material from being removed from the screen.

The content you create will be exclusive to the Redmi Writing Pad though. A bummer though since that could be a useful thing to have for sharing what you doodle on it.

It is powered by a CR2016 replaceable button battery that can provide you with up to 20,000 pages before running out of juice.

India price with direct to PHP conversion (no taxes and duties yet):

It is currently only available in India. Local prices and availability are yet to be confirmed.
