HONOR has been teasing its 80 series smartphones. Now they officially unveiled it in China all of which sport high megapixel cameras.
Both HONOR 80 Pro and the HONOR 80 highlights 160MP for their main cameras and 2MP depth helpers. The difference will be their 3rd accompanying modules such as the 50MP ultrawide for the Pro, while the regular variant gets a lowered 8MP ultrawide.
Another star of the night will be their Qualcomm chips. The Pro gets the 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with new gen Adreno. However, it is slightly underclocked at 3.0GHz frequency instead of 3.2GHz. Its three Cortex-A710 Gold cores were limited to 2.5GHz versus the usual 2.75GHz of other SD 8+ G1 smartphones.
Meanwhile, the vanilla model receives the newly introduced Snapdragon 782G chipset, the successor to the SD 778G+.
The HONOR 80 Series is available in Ripple Blue, Sunrise Pink, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black.
The rest of the Pro's details are 120Hz 6.78-inch OLED with 2700 x 1224 FHD+ resolution, 10-bit panel, HDR 10, and DCI-P3 color gamut. It also has 8GB, 12GB RAM, 256GB or 512GB storage, 4800mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge. While the selfie shooter uses 50MP + 2MP depth in a pill-shaped cutout.
On the other hand, the standard HONOR 80 uses a slightly smaller display of 6.67-inch OLED with 2400 x 1080 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The memory options are 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB storage and have a 4,600mAh battery with USB-C 66W fast charging.
Apart from those two, HONOR also introduced the 80 SE variant. Just like the regular edition, it uses similar screen details, RAM, storage, battery, and a 32MP selfie camera.
What changed here will be the 6nm 2.4GHz MediaTek Dimensity 900 with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU and the rear camera with 64MP + 5MP ultrawide + 2MP macro shooter.
All three models have similar connectivity features such as 5G, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and dual SIM support.
It will be the same also for their operating system with Android 12 with Magic UI 7.0 skin on top.
