Moto X40 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 165Hz OLED screen now official!

Motorola just announced the Moto X40. It is geared to be the cheapest smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, 165Hz OLED screen, and IP68 protection.

Moto X40 features!

In terms of design, the Moto X40 has a slim body at just 8.5mm thick. It also weighs 198 g. It has curved corners and a square camera island for the triple-camera setup. In front, it has a 6.67-inch OLED screen with a 2400 x 1080 FHD+ resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color, SGS double eye protection, and DC dimming. For protection, it has IP68 water and dust protection as well as Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for the screen.

Inside, it has the 4nm 3.2GHz Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 octa-core processor, next-gen Adreno GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,600 mAh battery with 125W TurboPower fast charging + 15W wireless charging + 15W reverse charging.

For the cameras, it has a triple-camera setup with a 50MP 1/1.55-inch main sensor with OIS + 50MP 117-degree ultra-wide-angle with AF, 2.5cm macro option + 12MP Sonu IMX663 2x portrait telephoto with LED flash. It also has a HUGE 60MP selfie camera.

It runs Android 13 with MyUI 5.0 out of the box. It also features an In-Display fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6E, 5G SA/NSA, dua; 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and USB-C.

It is currently in pre-order in China and will go on sale starting December 22. Local prices and availability are yet to be confirmed. We will update you as soon as we get more infromation.
