Alongside the S16 Pro, vivo also unveiled the S16 and S16e in an event earlier to complete the new series.
The vanilla S16 is almost similar to the Pro variant in terms of design and display info. It has a 6.78-inch 60-degree curved AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
What changed here is that the Pro had Dimensity 8200 chip but the standard model gets the 7nm 3.2GHz Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor with Adreno 650 GPU.
It is paired with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
For battery, it is identical as well with 4,600mAh, and charges using USB-C and a 66W power adaptor.
On the camera side, its rear uses 64MP f/1.89 with OIS, 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide sensor, 2MP f/2.4 macro, and LED flash. While the front-facing camera has 50MP AF f/2.45 and dual soft LED flash.
Moving forward, vivo S16e is a toned-down version among the three. It packs a smaller 6.62-inch AMOLED screen but retains the FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Inside it is powered by a 5nm 2.8GHz Samsung Exynos 1080 octa-core processor with Mali G78MP10 GPU.
The chip is partnered with 8GB or 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and choices of 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
For cameras, it is using 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor with OIS, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro helpers.
Other features noted would be that both smartphones have In-display fingerprint readers.
For connectivity, they have 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, and GPS. The S16 has WiFI 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 while the S16e has lower WiFi 5 (dual-band) and Bluetooth 5.2
Their software runs Android 13 with OriginOS 3 out of the box.
