We got an early look at the newly announced OnePlus 11. These are our thoughts and first impressions of the new flagship! |
OnePlus 11 in Eternal Green |
OnePlus has just unveiled the new OnePlus 11. In front is a 120Hz 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED screen with 1300nits peak brightness. Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.0, and a 5,000mAh battery with 100W wired charging.
At the back are the Hasselblad triple rear cameras made up of a 50MP IMX890 primary camera, a 48MP IMX581 ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP IMX709 2x telephoto camera with an LED flash while in front is a 16MP selfie camera.
As of this article's writing, the official PH price of the smartphone has yet to be announced. It will soon be available in the Philippines.
Let's dive in!
Unboxing/Accessories
|
Bright red box! |
Like previous flagship OnePlus phones, the new OnePlus 11 comes in a bright red box with branding, key features, and the OnePlus X Hasselblad branding.
|
Inside the box |
Inside the box are the phone, red USB-A to USB-C cable, 100W wall charger, SIM ejector tool, and documentation.
There are no included earphones nor is there an included case.
Build Quality/Design
For the materials used, the OnePlus 11 is made of a combination of glass and metal. The front and back panels are made of Glass with Gorilla Glass Victus protection. In between the two panels are a glossy stainless steel frame that extends to the large rear camera module.
|
Rear design |
The glass panels and the metal frame are all slippery and prone to fingerprint smudges. We recommend wearing a case right away. Unfortunately, there is no included case in the box.
Upon picking up the phone, you feel its heft and weight that comes with the metal and glass materials. It looks and feels premium and is what you would expect from contemporary flagship phones.
|
SIM tray |
The phone is rated IP64 water and dust resistance and this can be seen with the SIM tay's rubber gasket.
|
Curved display |
In front is the 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 3216 x 1440 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 720Hz touch sampling rate, and a 1,300 nits peak brightness. It also has a 20.1:9 aspect ratio and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
A very good-looking display!
On the top left corner is the punch hole for the selfie camera while around the screen are super slim bezels with the chin bezels being slightly thicker than the rest.
The curvature of the display is shallow which reduces the risk of accidental touch, taps, or gestures when holding the phone normally in one hand.
|
Top and bottom |
On top of the phone are antenna lines, a microphone, and a speaker while at the bottom are a speaker, antenna lines, a microphone, and a SIM tray.
|
Left and right |
On the left side of the phone are more antenna lines and a metal volume rocker while on the right are the (ring, vibrate, silent) slider, antenna lines, and the metal power button. Both the metal volume rocker and metal power button have a solid feel while giving satisfying feedback when pressed.
It will come in either Titan Black or Eternal Green colorways.
|
Rear cameras |
For cameras, at the back is the 50MP f/1.88 primary camera with IMX890 1/1.56-inch sensor and 5-axis OIS, the 48MP 114.5 degree ultra-wide camera with 4cm Macro, and a 32MP 2x telephoto with 1/2.74-inch RGBW sensor with an LED flash.
While in front is the 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera.
The stock camera app comes with the following modes: Photo, Video, Night, Portrait, XPan, Pano, Film, Slo-Mo, Timelapse, Long exposure, Dual-View, and Tilt-shift.
The Pro mode comes with controls for ISO (100-6400), Shutter Speed (1/8000-30 secs), EV (+-3), Focus, White Balance, and zoom (1x, 3x). The 3x zoom is digital where the app crops in to make it look like it is zoomed in.

Rear camera daylight ultra-wide |

X-Pan mode with black and white filter |
The first shots from the rear camera are impressive. These are some of the best photos on a smartphone we have ever gotten. OnePlus and Hasselblad have done it in daylight scenarios.
|
Selfie daylight |
|
Selfie portrait mode |
The same can be said with the selfie shots. It isn't as detailed as the rear cameras but do you really need a 50MP selfie?
It takes some of the best photos on a smartphone we have ever gotten!
Even though these were shot with early hardware and software, we are super impressed. We have never seen such polish from an early unit in a long time.
We will do more testing for the review so stay tuned.

Out of the box, the OnePlus 11 is one of the most polished early looks we have gotten from a smartphone in a long while.
The build and design are beautiful and remind us of jewelry. Out-of-the-box set-up and performance are snappy and smooth.
What impressed us the most are the cameras. OnePlus and Hasselblad have impressed us so far with the daylight shots. We are super excited to try the cameras for low light.
Let's not forget the 100W charging paired with the new smart charging feature. You can charge while gaming or while watching a movie. You can even charge from 0 to 100 percent in under 30 minutes.
Lastly, let's not forget about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 paired with the Cryo velocity Vapor Chamber cooling. We can't wait to do more testing with this phone.
If the price is right, this may be the return of the flagship killer.
