Counter Strike 2 launched officially, limited test begins!

Valve officially starts the next generation of its iconic title Counter-Strike and it will come with massive changes from the ground up.

Counter-Strike 2 launched!

The announcement was through the publisher's website. They claimed that the shooting game will have an overhaul to every system, content, and experience.

The website continued that it would be the biggest leap the developers have made in Counter-Strike history as this will feature improved mechanics, maps, visuals, audio, and interface.

Map enhancements

Counter-Strike 2 will be FREE unlike the previous CS: Go buyable on Steam for a long time before the 2018 update.

The new game is based on Valve's Source 2 engine it is expected to come around in the summer season of 2023, along with a commitment to updates and new features.

Right now it is available to select users on the Windows platform for testing purposes. The map is currently limited to the iconic Dust II in Deathmatch and unranked matchmaking modes. Meanwhile, other modes and maps are expected to come for future test releases. While the devs also promised that all the familiar items from the previous CS game will be available here too including the players' skills.

During the testing phase, the game makers are reviewing a subset of the game's elements. One of the noticeable improvements can be seen in the smokes. Valve says "Smoke Grenades are now dynamic volumetric objects that interact with the environment, and react to lighting, gunfire, and explosions."

Based on the FAQs, interested players who want to try should have particular requirements set by the developers such as the recent activity on official servers, standings on Steam, and honesty.
