The National Telecommunications Commission announced an update regarding deactivated SIM cards after the looming deadline.

Deactivated SIM Cards can be restored by 5 days after the deadline!
The government agency clarified that all SIM cards that failed to register before the April 26 deadline will be deactivated but they may still be recovered 5 days after the said deadline.
They reiterated that this will be the final chance for SIM card owners to follow the law and keep their numbers. Again the Government highly recommends avoiding the unnecessary hassles deactivation of SIM Cards may bring and doing your part diligently.
Upon expiration po sa deadline, assuming there’s no extension, under the law po at IRR, automatically po deactivated ‘yung SIMs. However, the law naman po provided a way to have these SIMs reactivated within five days po of automatic deactivation. Pwede ninyo po i-reactivate ‘yung SIM,” said Salvahan during the Laging Handa briefing.
Upon expiration of the deadline, assuming there is no extension under the law and IRR, the SIMs will be automatically deactivated. However, the law provided a way to reactivate these SIMs within five days of the automatic deactivation. You can have the SIM reactivated, Salvahan continued
According to the latest count of NTC, there are now over 75 million SIM cards registered as of April 19 but this is only equivalent to 44.97 percent of all existing or in-use SIM cards in the Philippines.
The DICT also said that there would be no extension of the registration period despite several requests.
