ColorOS 13 on the Find N2 Flip: Top 5 features you shouldn't miss

To recap, originally announced during the second half of 2022, ColorOS 13 arrived with several new features and design elements that make it one of the better Android skins on the market. Since its announcement, it immediately started rolling out gradually to various OPPO series including the Find X, Reno, and A Series.

In this article, we share the top 5 features found of the ColorOS 13 on the OPPO Find N2. Some of those are only found on foldable devices. Read on.

1. Split Screen mode - ColorOS 13 allows users to enter split screen mode by swiping up with three fingers. Our favorite app pairings for split screen include web surfing while watching a video on YouTube, and playing music on Spotify while navigating on Google Maps.

Split screen allows for a variety of productivity-focused benefits and with the larger vertical real estate of the folding screen, it allows for more content to be displayed from both apps.

2. Smart Sidebar - Swiping in from the upper right side of the screen brings out the Smart Sidebar. It is a dock-like floating window that allows users to open apps in floating windows or in a split screen. It is also smart enough to recommend apps or features depending on the current content the user is in. 

For example, the Smart Sidebar can recommend actions when the user is watching a video.

3. Unfolding and Folding during calls - The OPPO N2 Flip can be set so that when the phone is unfolded, it will answer the current call. Similarly, the phone automatically ends the current call when folding the device.

4. Quick Replies with Speech-to-Text - Because of the new cover screen on the N2 Flip, OPPO has begun adding unique software solutions that are only possible with a relatively large second screen. One of these is quick replies. When a user receives a message from any of the supported messaging apps, the cover screen gives the user the option to choose a quick reply from a number of set replies that the user customized beforehand.

OPPO recently added Speech-to-Text to the quick replies to allow users to reply nearly hands-free.

5. Coverscreen and Tripod mode is a flexible combination - Because of the folding nature of the phone paired with the outer cover screen, users can capture photos, videos, selfies, and selfie videos normally and in tripod mode. This opens up a ton of creative possibilities for capturing the moment whether you are with friends or are on your own.

Bonus: Cover Screen Widgets - OPPO N2 Flip released with several cover screen widgets that add functionality to the phone when folded. They have since been adding features including the Spotify Widget that allows playback control without opening the phone.

This update may be a sign of things to come as it represents OPPO's dedication to giving the best folding phone experience with hardware and software. Hopefully, we can see more apps that take advantage of a second screen.
