First of all the new operating system comes with several mini improvements, while there's not much of a standout they should be useful for a lot of users in their regular activities on the phone.
Live Voicemail

Apple added Live Voicemail so users don't have to pick up when an unrecognized number is calling, the phone will instead do that for you and will show up the live scrolling text of what the person on the other end is saying. Meanwhile, calls that are tagged as "Spam" will be automatically declined.

Another feat is the Contact Posters, it is basically a customizable call screen where users can change how they like contacts to appear and select the best modifications like photos or Memoji, add captions and font colors.

If you want to share contact details, there's NameDrop which lets you transfer contacts seamlessly if you put iPhones or Apple Watch together. While SharePlay can easily let users share simultaneous music/video streams on two devices. It even has the capability to stream music to playback head unit via their owner's iPhone.

For FaceTime, the app now supports leaving audio and video message while the call version gets Video reactions such as hearts, balloons, fireworks, laser beams, rain, and more. Meanwhile, FaceTime allows you to make or take calls on Apple TV or begin a call on your iPhone and then transfer it to the TV.

A new feature in the iOS 17 is called the Journal app, as the name suggests, it is all about jotting down notes and giving personalized suggestions for your special moments based on photos, music, workouts, and more.

Meanwhile, the keyboard receives new AI-enhanced autocorrect, inline prediction, and a new speech recognition model. For iMessage, it has enhanced searching features with filters, a swipe-to-reply function, and the capability to transcribe voice messages, support real-time location updating in-app, and improved emojis and Live stickers.

StandBy, another feat that Apple included, it shows live activities in full screen, while Siri, it takes the feature to new heights by providing rich visual results that can be looked upon from a distance.

Speaking of Siri, it can be now activated by just saying "Siri" instead of mentioning first "Hey" which makes it a much-simplified activation.
