Dynamic Island on the Mate 60 Pro?

Ever since the iPhone 14 series reintroduces the Dynamic Island feature, many phone makers started doing their own version.

While HUAWEI was the first to introduce this when they used to own HONOR back in 2018, the feature didn't click that much to consumers.

Based on the reports on Weibo, HUAWEI is preparing to bring back the pill-shaped punch hole. It was first seen on the Mate 40 and P40 Series last 2020 but now the firm is gearing to separate dual cameras and 3D ToF sensors from the bezel with the upcoming Mate 60 Pro.

It was also reported by the blogger Wangzhaiknows at Weibo that HUAWEI has optimized the phone's software to support the "dynamic island-like feature. He also confirmed there will be new animations on the HarmonyOS 4.0.

A screenshot also points out that the Chinese tech company has done its research to pull its own version. It suggests that there will be two types of dynamic island options. The first one shows "equal width on all sides' while the 2nd shows "extremely narrow on the left and right sides".

Compared with the iPhone 14, it has a four-sided equal-width solution. Right now it is unclear what design the Mate 60 series will be using.

Obviously, re-jumping to the bandwagon should create a stir for consumers. When realme adopted their own versions of the dynamic island to the C55 and C53 they were both sold out in a matter of few days.

What do you guys think?
