MWC 2024: TECNO MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 Ultra with Intel Core Ultra processors First-look

TECNO showcased a long list of new innovations and products at MWC 2024 including the new Intel Core Ultra 7 equipped MEGABOOK T16 Pro 2024 Ultra.

The Next IT large screen slim laptop?

The latest member of the popular T-line of laptops from TECNO features a 16-inch Expanded Horizon screen with a 16:10 golden aspect ratio and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. It has peak brightness of 400 nits and it covers over 100 percent of the sRGB color space. It supports DC Adaptive Dimming DC and is TUV Lande Eye Comfort certified.

Top and bottom design

Design-wise, the laptop is surprisingly thin and lightweight for a 16-inch screen device. It has the holographic MEGABOOK branding on the back of the screen. At the bottom are the grills for air intake and speaker grills.

On the side are the ports with aggressive lines and the MEGABOOK branding.

Intel Core Ultra 7 chip

Inside is the Intel Core Ultra that uses the company's 4 Process technology that has Three AI Engines (CPU + GPU + NPU) that is supposedly 70 percent faster in AI generative AI efficiency, 25 percent better in power consumption of online video playback and up to 2x better graphics performance with built-in Intel ARC GPUs.

Alongside the processor are 16GB/32GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB/1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The new enhanced Ice Storm cooling system cools the cooled by 0.2mm ultra-thin Shark-Fin blades that offer 3.54CFM of maximum airflow to two 9mm heat conducting rods.

Powering the machine is the 99.99Wh battery that supports 100W GaN SuperFast charging. This makes it the world's first Ultrabook with a 99.99Wh battery rated for up to 22 hours.

Ceramic topped Trackpad

TECNO claims that it has 120 percent increased volume and has 'Mind-blowing 3D surround sound.

The keyboard comes with 1.5mm long keystroke keys that offer a 'light-hand feel as it rebounds'. The elevated Touchpad with a large ceramic panel supports muti-touch, pressure control and gesture control.

Its Power button doubles as the device's fingerprint scanner.

It comes with a microSD card slot, two USB Type-A 3.0 slots, a 3.5mm Audio combo jack, a Power Light indicator, a safety lock, an HDMI 1.4 port and a USB Type-A 3.1 slot.

It comes with the OneLeap app where TECNO users can have access to all-in-one troubleshooting and diagnostic software, a PC clone function (for File Migration) and more.

Text prompt Image generation on-device without an internet connection!

What impressed us was the reliability and speed of the offline image generator. It was able to generate a 512 x 512 image with just a text prompt.

Unfortunately, there is no word yet on the Philippine availability and pricing of the new laptop.
