Google has introduced its new TV Streamer (4K) with a 22 percent faster CPU, 4GB memory, 32GB internal storage, and Dobly Vision support.
With a more powerful CPU, double memory, and larger storage, the new TV Streamer (4K) was made to be content-first. The new streaming device forgoes the dongle form factor that was made to be hidden at the back of the TV to a new center-piece-like design that can sit in front of the TV or on a flat surface.
The larger storage capacity allows users to install more apps like YouTube, Peacock, Prime Video, Spotify, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Netflix, Apple TV, Sling and more.
The box connects wirelessly through WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.1. At the back are a USB-C port, an HDMI 2.1 Type-A port, and a 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet port. It supports Google Gemini, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Voice Remote, and Find My Remote.
Running the show is Android TV OS with Google TV on top. It supports Matter and Thread border router smart home connectivity. This means that the TV Streamer (4K) can be used as the control hub for other registered and connected Matter smart home devices.
Both the box and the remote are made from at least 65 percent recycled plastic. The box measures 6.4 x 3.0 x 1.0 inches and weighs 5.7 oz. It comes in either Porcelain or Hazel colorways.
Included in the box are the Google TV Streamer device, Voice Remote, 2 AAA batteries, Power Adapter, Power cable, Quick Start Guide, and Safety and Warranty document.
It requires an HDMI 2.1 cable but it is not included in the box.
Google TV Streamer (4K) 32GB - USD 99.99 (around PHP 5.8K)
It is now available for pre-order in the United States through the Google web store.
There is no word yet on international or Philippine availability and pricing.
