Courtesy of Android Authority, among the first early adopters is Nubia. The president of the company "Ni Fei" confirmed this himself through Weibo (China's social media) where he claimed that the brand will bring a "more realistic" camera key to Android consumers.
Additionally, the president also confirmed there will be half-press for focus and full press when shooting pictures.
Meanwhile, a leaker suggests that OPPO will also introduce this feature which will be called a "Quick Button" to free the action". It remains uncertain whether the mentioned feature will be a standard physical shutter button or merely a supportive gesture from the iPhone 16's key.
In related news, realme is also going to follow in these footsteps as the brand's VP Chase Xu showed a clip of an unknown realme device featuring the Camera Button.
The VP demonstrates that users can press a button to activate the camera. After the camera opens, the same button can be used to zoom in and out and pressed again to take a picture.
The Camera Button has been around in Android like Sony Xperia 1 VI and other earlier models. We've also seen this feature in Windows Phone and Symbian-powered devices which was ages ago.
Fast forward to 2024, Apple repopularized the Camera Button which has the capability of gesture controls, light press, long press, changing focal points, zooming, applying effects, and more. This is simply a handy tool for users who mainly use their phones for taking photos.
This move also shows that Apple remains a trendsetter despite merely copying what was available on other brands long ago. Apple can simply make other brands go crazy and follow what they do.
Remember the Dynamic Island thing?
What do you guys think?
