Nothing OS 3.0 Beta launches this October, new gallery, lock screen, smart app drawer, widgets and more

In a recent video published on the official YouTube channel, nothing unveiled the new Nothing Ear (Open) and its latest OS. 

In the video, the representatives claimed that Nothing OS 3.0 is the software the company 'always wanted' to build. It wasn't mentioned in the video but 9to5Google claims that the OS is based on Android 15.

New lock screen

The new features include: 

1. Nothing Gallery app - This is the company's take on the photo app with its unique design language and quick access from the camera app.

2. Lock Screen - Added customizability for clocks and widgets. This include the ability to disable the full-size clock to make room for more widgets.

3. Quick Settings - Fully customized icons including size. Added Auto-brightness toggle in the brightness slider.

4. Smart App Drawer - AI will be used to bring forward apps you may want to use - in a UI that is similar to iOS App Library. Added the ability to pin apps to the top of the traditional Android app drawer.

New widgets for main screen and lock screen

5. New Widgets - Added countdown widgets for dates, 'shared widgets' which sync content and sticker reactions between users.

6. UI - Updated typography, new 'Dot Engine' updated system animations with dynamic dots found when charging, scanning fingerprints and more.

1. Nothing Phone (2)

2. Nothing Phone (2a)

3. Nothing Phone (2a) Plus

Unfortunately, the original Nothing Phone (1) is not supported. As mentioned previously, the Beta is launching this October.
