Hope for TikTok in the US?

This means that those who will open the TikTok app in the U.S. will be greeted with a message stating that they "can't use the app for now". The TikTok app also has been removed from the US Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

According to our correspondent Yrda Fernandez, they saw the ban take effect on the app around 7:40 PM San Fransico time.

Anyone, including content creators and businesses based in the country, now has no access to TikTok.

But there is still some hope for the company and its over 170 million users in the U.S.

TikTok claimed that newly elected President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate the app once he takes office.

Trump will take office at the presidential inauguration on Monday, 20 January 2025.

Note: The ban does not impact users in the Philippines and other countries where TikTok remains accessible.

Let's wait and see.
