MWC 2025: Xiaomi 15 Ultra (Global) launched: 200MP HP9 sensor + 3x 50MP rear cam with LEICA optics

Following the China release last February 28, now the brand also introduced the Xiaomi 15 Ultra for the global market at MWC 2025.

To recap, it is the top-end offering of Xiaomi boasting LEICA lenses on the 50MP 1-inch ultra large primary camera w/ 14EV native dynamic range, f/1.63, 8P lens  + 50MP 115-degree ultra-wide angle Samsung JN5 sensor with 5cm macro + 50MP Sony IMX858 3x telephoto camera + 200MP 1/1.4-inch Samsung HP9 sensor with 4.3x periscope, and 6P lens.

The said periscope sensor is able to capture 136 percent more light compared to the predecessor. While the whole quad camera system is able to take 14mm-200mm optical-level quality of either ultra-wide or zoom.

The colorways and display

The device features four color options at the back: White, Black, and two-tone Silver-Black or Silver-Green, offering a classic camera-inspired design. It also comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Facing it upward, the phone sports a 6.73-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3100 x 1440, 120Hz refresh rate, 12-bit color support, 3200 nits peak brightness, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and Xiaomi Ceramic Glass Protection 2.0. The centered notch houses a 32MP OV32B40 sensor capable of 4K 60fps video recording.

The features

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is equipped with the 4.32GHz 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with a new-gen Adreno GPU. It offers 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB UFS 4.1. The device is powered by a 6,000mAh battery supporting 90W fast charging and 80W reverse wireless charging.

Other features noted are stereo speakers, a 4-microphone array, Dolby Atmos sound, Hi-Res audio certification.

Connectivity-wise, it has 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, GPS, NFC, Satellite communication and dual SIM.

For OS, the phone runs Android 15 with Xiaomi HyperOS 2.0 out of the box.

The device is now available in Europe, while you can view the listing at Xiaomi's official website. There's still no word yet if this will come to the Philippines.
