We recently tried one of the most capable productivity AI laptops this year—the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (Gen 9).
 |
The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (Gen9) 14ASP9 |
This notebook boasts a sleek metal design, a 120Hz 14.5-inch 2.8K OLED screen, an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 chip, 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB M.2 2242 SSD, 73WHr battery, 100W power adaptor, and Windows 11 Home with Copilot+ PC.
Before we begin, let's unbox the laptop first.
Unboxing/Accessories
 |
Inside the box |
Just like previous versions, Lenovo sent us a large brown box with styrofoam inside to protect the package. Inside, we saw the Yoga Pro 7 unit, 100W USB-C charger, paperwork, and a laptop sleeve.
Build Quality/Design
 |
The design |
Similar to the new generation of Yoga laptops, this device also has a thin metal design made of aluminum.
Also, don't get fooled by its sleek looks; the notebook boasts solid build quality from inside and out. The lid doesn't bend when you apply minimal force, and it goes the same with the body. Speaking of which, it has some hefty weight at 1.54 kg and measures 16.6mm in thickness.
 |
Slim design |
Moreover, the laptop boasts a US MIL-STD-810H military grade durability rating and has passed 21 test items as per Lenovo.
In terms of design, the Luna Grey colorway radiates simple yet classy aesthetics, giving you a professional vibe, especially when you take it out to Coffee shops or hotels.
At the top, you get to see a plain Grey cover lid with the Lenovo logo. If you have dry hands or fingers, it doesn't produce smudges outright, but if you touch it with oily fingers, you would notice minimal smudges, so keep that in mind.
 |
The bottom view |
At the bottom, there's a large bar of microholes for the laptop's ventilation. You also get to see one long rubber strip above and 2 short rubber stoppers below. There's also two visible speaker grills and 4 screws.
 |
The right side view |
On the right side, you will find 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 3.5mm audio jack, power button with light indicator, and E-shutter switch for webcam's privacy.
 |
The left side view |
On the life side, you will find an HDMI 2.1 port with support for a 4K 60Hz monitor, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 with PD 3.0, DP 1.4 and 10 Gbps, 1x USB-C 4.0 with PD 3.0, DP 1.4 support and up to 40 Gbps.
 |
Beautiful screen |
Opening the laptop will greet you with a 14.5-inch OLED screen, and a web camera at the top portion.
 |
The keyboard layout, track pad, and speakers |
Below, you'll find the typical laptop keyboard layout, speaker bars at the sides, a large tracking pad, AMD stickers, and Yoga stickers containing a QR code for eSupport. Meanwhile, there's another subtle silver Yoga logo at the bottom right part.
Meanwhile, the Yoga Pro 7 also boasts 1 long hinge, which allows you to tilt the screen up to 180 degrees.
Lenovo always had an excellent keyboard with their laptops, and that goes the same for this model. It has 1.5mm key travel, allowing you to feel just right when pressing, yet it doesn't feel too narrow or too deep. To sum it up, it gave us an enjoyable typing experience with enough precision and speed during are work or typical day-to-day activities.
Unfortunately, the keyboard doesn't have backlit lighting, and we also didn't see a fingerprint scanner on this one. Such a feature could be handy for instant logging in and other security-related tasks. Nonetheless, we do hope Lenovo could add it to their next releases.
Multimedia Experience
 |
Colorful screen |
As mentioned earlier, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (Gen 9) boasts a 14.5-inch OLED screen with 2.8K 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, 100 percent sRGB, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 400 nits peak brightness.
Wow factor at first glance
The display looks great, with crisp details and vibrant colors that make everything pop. The deep blacks and strong contrast work well for movies, gaming, and everyday use. Whether you're watching videos, playing games, or scrolling through social media, the screen makes the experience smooth and enjoyable.
 |
Deep blacks |
In addition, our friends and even some media colleagues have noticed the impressive screen quality, often complimenting how vibrant and sharp it looks. It’s gotten to the point where they’ve asked which brand we’re using, just because of how good the display is.
 |
The speakers |
In terms of audio, it produces a loud enough volume at max, enough to fill the whole living room. It produces clear details with noticeable separation, decent mids and bass, although there is minimal hissing sound on highs. That disappears once you tone down the volume at around 70 percent.
One nitpick we notice is the somewhat weaker volume on popular streaming titles like Disney+ and Netflix, both on the App or web browser. We do hope it's just a software thing from the platforms, otherwise, it works perfectly fine on YouTube, Apple Music, or playing movies natively on Media Player.
Moving forward, the 3.5mm audio jack works as intended with our headphones and earphones, while the built-in microphones easily catch our voice with enough clarity on our video calls.
Performance
Powering this device is the 5GHz 4nm Ryzen AI 9 365 chip with 10 cores, 20 threads, 10MB L/24MB L3 cache, AMD Radeon 880M, and Ryzen AI NPU with 73 TOPS of performance.
It also has LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 7500MHz and a 1TB M.2 2242 SSD
Benchmarks:

The Geekbench 6 GPU
|
 |
The 3D Mark Time Spy |
Geekbench 6 CPU - 2,757 points (single core), 12,400 points (multi-core)
Geekbench 6 GPU - 32,662 OpenCL score
Geekbench AI - 2,798 (single precision score), 1230 (half precision score), 5764 (quantized score)
3D Mark Time Spy - 3,926 overall score, 3,527 graphics score, 10,975 CPU score
In our tests, it rendered remarkable numbers as expected from top of the top-of-the-line AMD laptop chip. It performed greatly on multitasking, such as running multiple browser tabs in dual window mode (10-15 each), all while running Adobe Photoshop or Paint with Creator (AI). It did not have slowdowns thanks to fast processing prowess combined with a sizeable 32GB LPDDR5X RAM.
Productivity/creation partner
With AI-powered laptops getting more popular since their introduction last 2024, this Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (Gen 9) also offers the same feature.
In fact, the Paint has been upgraded with Copilot+ PC, which lets you use Cocreator, Image Creator, Generative erase, and Remove background.
Normally, you'd have to pay for constantly increasing fees from Adobe Photoshop to avail such capability. But that's not the case on this device, thanks to the embedded NPU.
 |
AI sketching sample |
For example, if you use the Cocreator feature, you can instantly turn your sketches into a more polished artwork in real time. Although it will still depend on proper prompt and an actual sketch on the board to provide better results.
Meanwhile, the Image Creator (Paid) enables users to prompt a few words and get their desired images.
While the Remove background or Generative erase (FREE) lets you eliminate background or objects with ease, plus fill in to complete your desired image.
Aside from creatives, you can also utilize its AI for using Live Captions with translation, Windows Studio Effects to blur the background on video calls.
 |
Genshin Impact FPS test |
Moving to running games, we tried out our favorite Genshin Impact, which we were able to set on 2.8K resolution + highest settings and get stable 40 fps even on difficult locations. If you want a better frame rate, toning down some graphics is highly suggested.
 |
Arcade game test |
We also tried playing on an unoptimized PC title called Undisputed Boxing Game; we played it on 1080p resolution and high settings, with recorded 49-55 fps of performance, which is still at playable speeds.
 |
Shooting game test |
In terms of shooting games, the newly released Anime-inspired tactical shooter game "Strinova", we were able to run it on 120 fps at 1080p, but there are minimal frame drops due to fast-paced action, though fortunately, it doesn't fall below 100 fps, which is still impressive for an integrated GPU.
In terms of storage, it has a fast 1TB M.2 2242 SSD, which is sufficient for personal activities, work, apps, and games. Though it may not be enough for video creators who constantly need a large space for their videos.
For the battery, the laptop can last a whole work day of use (8am to 6pm) from 100 percent down to 22 percent. Our workload consists of news writing, photo editing, running music in the background, and researching on multiple browser tabs.
In gaming, we didn't try playing long when unplugged as we noticed a toning down of performance, though we also saw significantly faster drain compared to performing typical tasks.
When it comes to charging the laptop, we recorded 0 to 28 percent in just 15 minutes. When we reached the 43-minute mark, it was already at 72 percent, while at the 55-minute mark, we were already at 92 percent, and then at 60 minutes, it was fully charged.
 |
The camera |
Here's also a sample of its FHD web camera. It provided usable details and color accuracy and was an improvement compared to the traditional web camera we've used over the years.
For wireless connectivity, the device uses WiFi 6E (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz), 2x2, and Bluetooth 5.3.
In our experience, the Yoga Pro 7 is compatible with our WiFi 6 router, thus providing us with fast download and upload speeds. We were able to download a 15GB game in just less than 30 minutes of waiting time.
For Bluetooth, we did not experience disconnection with our headset as well as gamepad, though there was some latency for the controller.
 |
Lenovo Vantage app |
In terms of OS, the laptop runs Windows 11 Home out of the box.
It also has the Lenovo Vantage app, where you can view the remaining warranty period (30 months), troubleshoot and diagnose, view parts support, service requests, quickly fix issues, and purchase lock service.
Pros - Sleek professional aesthetics, tough build, crisp display, high-performance, good battery life, fast cahrging, long warranty
Cons - Can be heavy for small people, large charger adds weight to your bag, no fingerprint scanner, no backlit keyboard

Verdict
 |
The Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 (Gen 9) |
Priced at PHP 95,995, you are getting a durable and sleek laptop with a great display, performance, and decent battery life on the go, which should be enough for professionals.
However, the weight may be a deal breaker for a user with a small body, plus the charger takes up so much space and adds some weight. Perhaps Lenovo could try shifting to a GaN charger instead in their next releases.
Overall, it is a solid productivity companion for us and is enough to provide our needs for working, whether at home or travelling.
It is currently on sale at PC Express for PHP 93,995, which makes the deal even better.
