Upgraded mid-range chip

The new processor has a model number of SM7750-AB. Based on Qualcomm's claims, this new chip brings notable improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance compared to its predecessor.

The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 features an updated Kryo CPU with a 1 + 4+ 3 core configuration, including a primary core clocked at 2.8 GHz, four performance cores at 2.4 GHz, and three efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. Qualcomm states the CPU offers a 27 percent performance increase over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Additionally, its Adreno GPU sees a 30 percent performance boost and supports select Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, such as Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0. It also includes compatibility with HDR10, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and HLG video formats.

Meanwhile, the Hexagon NPU provides a 65 percent improvement in AI processing, enabling on-device execution of models like Stable Diffusion 1.5.

It also supports LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, along with a triple 12-bit Spectra ISP capable of handling up to 200MP still images and 10-bit photos. On the other hand, the video recording is capped at 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.

Connectivity options include sub-6 GHz 5G, WiFi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0, as well as support for aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive audio codecs, and Qualcomm’s Expanded Personal Area Network (XPAN) technology.

Smartphone brands such as HONOR, vivo, and realme are expected to launch devices powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the coming months.
