HUAWEI nova Y73 is now official in PH: 1.8m drop resistance, 6,620mAh battery, PHP 9,999 price tag

Tech giant HUAWEI today launched the nova Y73 in the Philippines.

Big battery, guaranteed durability

The HUAWEI nova Y73 is the company's newest affordable smartphone, boasting a stylish and slim design, but also comes with a durable build and long-lasting battery life.

To recap, the smartphone arrives in a slim-looking body with a Dynamic Plaid Texture Design and Double Star Orbit Rings for the cameras available in Blue and Black colorways.

For durability, it has the five-star drop-resistance certification from SGS up to 1.8 meters and comes with an IP64 dust and water resistance rating designed to handle rain, splashes, and dust.

The large 6.67-inch display

The handset also sports a large 6.67-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, wet touch support, and SGS Low Visual Fatigue A+ Premium Performance Certification for eye comfort.

Other specs of the device include an unspecified octa-core processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, and a MASSIVE 6,620mAh battery.

HUAWEI claims that this can last up to 1.2 days of online video playback or up to 2.6 days of online music playback.

Moreover, HUAWEI said that its battery can perform reliably even when the temperature drops to -20 degrees Celsius and comes with battery management to help keep its battery healthier longer.

It also supports 40W USB-C SuperCharge Turbo, which can do up to 5 hours of video playback after 10 minutes of charging.

In the camera department, the phone is equipped with a 50MP f/2.0 primary camera at the back and an 8MP selfie shooter.

Back design and the X-Button

The device also has the HUAWEI X-Button designed to launch favorite apps and control smart tools, making quick calls effortlessly with customizable single, double, or long presses. 

Users can use it for quick calling and open widgets like Flashlight, Calculator, and Camera.

This also has the Smart Remote function that you can use to control your TV or air conditioner.

Completing the specs, the handset comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, 2.4GHz WiFi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, dual SIM slots, and runs on EMUI 12 skin out of the box.
