Xiaomi EV opens its Europe R&D and Design Center in Munich, Germany

Xiaomi has opened its first electric vehicle research and development (R&D) and design facility outside of China, located in Munich, Germany.

Expanding EV development to the West

The new center is described as a key part of the company's global strategy for its EV division, focusing on smart mobility and advancing its "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem. Munich was selected for its established reputation as a center for automotive engineering and design.

The establishment of the Munich center is intended to integrate the company into a leading European automotive hub. The company stated it plans to leverage local expertise and partnerships to advance its work in intelligent driving and vehicle dynamics.
