A more powerful and Intelligent MacBook
Apple has officially announced the refreshed MacBook Pro, emphasizing endurance and efficiency brought by the new M5 chip. The new model also retains its two colorway options, Space Black and Silver, for a more sleek and professional look.
It displays a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR panel with 1600 nits peak brightness. Unfortunately, there's no 16-inch model for the M5 variant, which could be announced later on or next year.
At the core of the upgrade is the new M5 chip. It comprises a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple states the processor offers a 20 percent improvement in CPU performance and artificial intelligence processing that is up to 3.5 times faster, aided by an enhanced Neural Engine. Graphics performance also sees a significant boost with 1.6 times faster rendering, supported by memory bandwidth that now exceeds 150GB/s. SSD speeds have reportedly doubled compared to the previous generation.
It is paired with 16GB unified memory and 512GB SSD storage.

The company claims the new model can achieve up to 24 hours of battery life, a milestone for the MacBook Pro line. The device continues to feature MagSafe 3 for charging.
The camera system remains a 12-megapixel webcam with Center Stage capability.
Other features include a six-speaker sound system with spatial audio for immersive listening.
For ports, the laptop provides three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and a headphone jack. Wireless connectivity is WiFi and Bluetooth.
The MacBook Pro ships with macOS Tahoe, which introduces new Apple Intelligence features such as live translation in Messages and FaceTime, alongside smarter automations via the Shortcuts app.
