Tougher entry-level to beat?

POCO has announced that the M8 will launch officially on January 8. Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed several of the phone's primary details.

As per the teaser, the device will feature a 6.77-inch 3D curved OLED display with 2392 x 1080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits.

Additionally, POCO states this is the segment's "most durable 3D curved display phone."

Why? Because the Poco M8 carries MIL-STD-810H certification for resistance to extreme heat, dust, and shock. It also has an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance, incorporates Wet Touch 2.0 technology, and has been drop-tested from up to 1.7 meters.

With a thickness of 7.35mm and a weight of 178 grams, it is positioned as the slimmest POCO phone to date and, according to the brand, the slimmest and lightest device in its category.

While these details are officially confirmed, recent retailer listings have also indicated the phone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. The listings further suggest a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, a 20MP front-facing camera, and a 5,520 mAh battery supporting 45W wired charging.
