Effective immediately, passengers may carry up to two power banks, each not exceeding 100Wh, with capacity clearly labeled in Wh or mAh. Charging power banks themselves onboard is still strictly prohibited.
Read the detailed guidelines below
- Keep them on your person, or store them in the seat pockets or under the seat in front of you
- Do not place them in checked baggage or overhead bins
- Power banks must not exceed 100Wh (Maximum of 2 power banks are allowed per passenger, Wh = (max X Voltage) / 1,000)
- Pack each power bank individually to prevent short circuits. (e.g., tape the terminals or place in original packaging, plastic bags, or pouches)
- Charging of power banks is strictly prohibited throughout the flight
- You may use power banks to charge your personal devices, but please note that this is not allowed during taxi, takeoff, and landing
The Philippine Airlines also noted that power banks must have a clearly indicated capacity label—preferably in Watt-hours (Wh) or milliampere-hours (mAh).
