Nothing Phone (4a) vs Infinix NOTE 60 Pro

The Infinix NOTE 60 Pro and the Nothing Phone (4a) are two of the more interesting mid-range options available in the Philippines right now.

They share the same processor and target a similar audience, but take very different approaches when it comes to design, cameras, and overall feature set.

If you are trying to decide between the two, here is a closer look at how they stack up.

Build/Design - The Infinix NOTE 60 Pro takes clear design cues from premium smartphones, featuring a slim 7.36mm profile that makes it one of the thinnest phones in this price range.

Its headline design trick is the Active Matrix Display embedded on the camera hump, capable of showing notifications, charging status, Pixel Art, and even mini games. Add in the Halo Light ring for visual alerts, and the NOTE 60 Pro definitely looks more expensive than it costs.

It is available in six colorways, including Mist Titanium, Deep Ocean Blue, Solar Orange, Mocha Brown, Torino Black, and Frost Silver, and it comes with Gorilla Glass 7i protection and IP64 water splash resistance.

The Nothing Phone (4a) keeps things minimal and distinctive with its see-through rear design and the new Glyph Bar, a strip of 63 LEDs that lights up for calls, notifications, and charging alerts. People will notice it, just for different reasons.

At 8.6mm and 204.5g, it is slightly thicker and heavier than the NOTE 60 Pro, while it also carries IP64 protection.

Both phones are well-built for their price. The NOTE 60 Pro reminds me of Apple's iPhone 17, while Nothing has its unique transparent design with updated colorways.
The display of both phones

DisplayBoth phones use a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and WiFi 6 connectivity, so at a glance, they share a lot of DNA.

The NOTE 60 Pro has the edge in refresh rate at 144Hz versus the Phone (4a)'s 120Hz adaptive panel, and it also has a slightly higher pixel density at 431 ppi compared to 387 ppi.

The NOTE 60 Pro's 2304Hz PWM dimming and 2,800Hz touch sampling rate is also a notch above the Phone (4a)'s 2160Hz and 2500Hz touch sampling rate, respectively.

In an actual side-by-side comparison, the NOTE 60 Pro also appears to have a slight edge in terms of color accuracy as well.
AnTuTu benchmark results
AnTuTu benchmark results

Specs - Here is something you do not see often in a comparison: on paper, both phones run on the exact same processor, the 2.7GHz 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. RAM configurations are also identical across both lineups.

In our benchmark test, the Nothing Phone (4a) achieved 1,144,065 points in AnTuTu, while the Infinix received a slightly lower 1,096,436 points.

While these numbers showed that Nothing has an edge, these differences are barely felt in real-life usage. Both should be capable chips for your everyday tasks and gaming.

Where they differ is in storage and connectivity. The NOTE 60 Pro only comes in 256GB, but it uses UFS 2.2 storage, which is a step slower than the UFS 3.1 in the Nothing Phone (4a).

On battery, the NOTE 60 Pro has a clear advantage. Its 6,500mAh battery is notably larger than the Phone (4a)'s 5,080mAh, and its 90W wired and 30W wireless charging speeds are faster than Nothing's 50W wired and 7.5W reverse wireless setup.

Infinix also claims up to 34 hours of nonstop video playback and six years of healthy battery life with the same self-healing technology that restores up to 1% of battery capacity every 200 charge cycles.
The cameras
The cameras

Cameras - This is where the two phones diverge significantly. The Nothing Phone (4a) has a clear camera advantage on paper and likely in practice.

It sports a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Samsung GN9 main sensor with a large 1/1.57-inch sensor and OIS, plus a dedicated 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto with OIS, giving it genuine versatility across zoom ranges. Its 32MP selfie camera is also substantially better than the NOTE 60 Pro's 13MP front shooter.

The Infinix NOTE 60 Pro has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP f/1.59 OIS main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide. The wider f/1.59 aperture is a real strength for low-light main shots, and OIS helps with stability. But the lack of a telephoto lens and the weaker selfie camera are noticeable gaps compared to the Phone (4a).

If cameras matter to you, the Nothing Phone (4a) wins this round comfortably.

Other features - The NOTE 60 Pro is loaded with extras that feel punching above its price.

It features JBL-tuned stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio certification, an IR Blaster, a dedicated AI button, a health measurement sensor, a Stainless Steel VC Cooling System for sustained performance, and Bypass Charging for gaming without stressing the battery. It also includes an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback. A lot to offer at PHP 17,999.

The Nothing Phone (4a) counters with its Glyph Bar system and OTG support. Its GPS also uses dual-band L1+L5 for more accurate navigation, a small but appreciated detail. Both phones support WiFi 6, 5G, 4G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and dual SIM.

OS Both phones run Android 16 Operating system paired with their respective UI skins.

The Infinix uses an XOS 16 featuring the GlowSpace interface. The company says it is inspired by Apple's Liquid Glass for smoother animation and optimized UI. Infinix promises up to 3 years of OS upgrades and up to 5 years of security patches.

Meanwhile, Nothing uses its own design with the Nothing 4.1 as well, bringing clean aesthetics and an almost bloat-free Android experience. It also gets years of updates, but the NOTE 60 Pro has 6 years of security patches

Nothing Phone (4a) Pros Iconic Glyph Bar design with a clean see-through rear, Triple camera system including a 50MP periscope telephoto with OIS, 32MP selfie camera, faster UFS 3.1 storage, longer security patch support

Infinix NOTE 60 Pro Pros - Slimmer build at 7.36mm, Active Matrix Display, and Halo Light, 6,500mAh battery, faster 90W wired and 30W wireless charging. JBL stereo speakers, an AI button, and a health sensor, with a more affordable starting price.

Our thoughts

The Infinix NOTE 60 Pro makes a strong case for itself at PHP 17,999. It packs a bigger battery, faster charging, more unique features, and a slimmer design at a price that undercuts the Nothing Phone (4a) by a good margin.

For budget-conscious buyers who want a feature-rich daily driver with serious battery stamina, it is a very hard phone to say no to.

That said, the Nothing Phone (4a) justifies its higher price with a better camera system, faster storage, and cleaner software. If you shoot a lot of photos, especially with zoom or selfies, the Phone (4a) is the smarter long-term investment.

What do you guys think?
