OPPO Reno16 Pro unveiled in China: Dimensity 9500s sub-flagship chip, 200MP main camera, and 7,000mAh battery

OPPO has introduced the new Reno16 Pro with significant hardware upgrades and a renewed focus on Portrait photography and AI features.

OPPO has officially launched the Reno16 series in China, with the OPPO Reno16 Pro standing out as a compelling, near-flagship, performing premium mid-range smartphone.

OPPO Reno16 Pro's key features

It features a premium build made of a glass back and metal frame, but is noticeably slimmer than the previous generation at just 7.7mm thick and weighing 205 grams. It is IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance rated.

It comes in either Midnight Black, Dream Blue, or Starry Night colorways. The Starry Night introduces a new 3D ice-clear floating process that creates a stunning naked-eye 3D optical effect on the back cover. 

In front is the 6.78-inch flat OLED (Flexible AMOLED) with a 2772 x 1272 resolution, a 3,600 nits local peak brightness, a 1-120Hz smart refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It supports 10-bit or 1.07 billion colors and 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM Dimming. The panel covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut and is OPPO Crystal Shield Glass protected.

Inside the phone is the 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500s octa-core processor, an Immortalis G925 MC12 GPU, 12GB/16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 7,000mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging via USB-C, and 50W AIRVOOC wireless fast charging.

At the back are the 200MP f/1.8 main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and OIS, a 50MP f/2.0 116-degree ultra-wide angle camera, and a 50MP f/2.8 3.5x periscope camera with OIS and 4K at 60fps video recording.

In front is the 50MP f/2.0 selfie camera with 4K at 60fps video recording.

Other features include an In-Display optical fingerprint scanner, an IR Blaster, stereo speakers, 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, Beidou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.

The OPPO Reno16 Pro is now available for pre-order in China and will be available for sale in stores and online on May 29, 2026.

There is no word yet on international or Philippine availability and pricing.
