BSP, PPMI launch new digital payment services

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Philippine Payments Management, Inc. (PPMI) have launched four new digital payment initiatives to make payments more accessible, convenient, and responsive to Filipinos' needs.

At a ceremony held at the BSP Head Office on July 29, 2026, the BSP and PPMI introduced Direct Debit PH along with the interoperable services InstaPay Cash-In and InstaPay for Business.

Interoperability and lower fees do more than lift transactions. They bring in more people. This is what financial inclusion looks like. More Filipinos sending and receiving money digitally. More Filipinos making the network stronger for everyone already on it," said BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr.

This launch reaffirms the BSP's commitment to build a payment system for every Filipino, and every Filipino business, no exceptions. This started with the National Retail Payment System Framework, which is the blueprint for a safer, faster, and more reliable and interoperable payment system," said BSP Deputy Governor Mamerto E. Tangonan.

Direct Debit PH allows customers to authorize billers to automatically collect payments from their accounts on scheduled due dates.

InstaPay Cash-In enables a user to send a request for funds to another user, who can then transfer the funds. Both parties conduct the transaction through their bank or e-wallet accounts.

InstaPay for Business raises the maximum transfer limit for registered businesses tenfold, from PHP 50,000 to PHP 500,000.

Together, these initiatives are intended to make payment transactions easier for both businesses and individuals.

Separate QR PH codes for person-to-person and merchant transactions, distinguishing between the two payment types.

Currently, "QR PH" refers to person-to-merchant (P2M) payments, in which merchants shoulder the transaction fees, while "InstaPay QR" is used for person-to-person (P2P) fund transfers, which may be subject to fees depending on the account used in the transaction.

The event, held as part of the BSP's 33rd anniversary month-long activities, was attended by stakeholders and partners from the payments industry.

  1. These updates are actually a pretty big step forward. Direct Debit PH should make recurring payments way less of a hassle, and bumping the InstaPay for Business limit to PHP 500,000 is definitely good news for businesses that move larger amounts. Splitting the QR codes also makes things clearer, especially for people who get confused between personal transfers and merchant payments. Curious to see how quickly banks and e-wallets roll everything out. By the way, while browsing online I also came across **https://fireballcasino.agro.pl/app/**—pretty clean interface if you're looking for something different to check out in your free time.
