Consistent with being sustainable
Globe has been included in TIME and Statista's World's Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list for the second year in a row, making it the only Philippine telecommunications company on the global ranking and one of just two Philippine companies recognized this year.
The list is drawn from more than 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential companies.
According to the firm, rankings are based on more than 20 indicators assessed through a four-step process covering sustainable business practices, commitment and ratings, reporting and transparency, and environmental and social stewardship. The final list includes the top 750 companies worldwide.
Globe's inclusion places the company alongside many of the world's most well-regarded firms, an indication that Philippine businesses can hold their own on sustainability, transparency, and governance measures used to benchmark companies globally.
Earning a place on this global ranking shows that Philippine companies can meet the highest global standards for sustainability, transparency, and responsible governance," said Carl Cruz, President and CEO of Globe. "Our sustainability practice continues to strengthen; it has become a measure of how we build trust, create long-term value, and remain competitive in a rapidly changing world.
Beyond environmental performance, the ranking also considers governance, transparency, accountability, external ratings, and social impact. The same factors increasingly influence how customers, investors, regulators, employees, and communities gauge a company's trustworthiness. Increasingly, corporate reputation hinges less on products and services alone, and more on how companies manage risk and deliver on their long-term commitments.
Globe pointed to several measurable results that supported its inclusion on the list. Under its decarbonization strategy, the company reported a 15.13% year-on-year drop in gross Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and a 9.49% reduction in gross Scope 3 emissions—both ahead of its annual targets of 4.2% and 2.5%, respectively. The company has also expanded its use of renewable energy, having converted around 700 sites as of the end of May 2026, to reach at least 3,000 sites by 2028.
Globe said the recognition reflects its broader push to fold sustainability into its operations, investments, and services as environmental, social, and governance expectations continue to grow across the business world.
