The Philippines' leading mobile wallet GCash has rolled out a new in-app Security Center to further safeguard its users. |

New GCash Security Center: three key tools
- Lock My Account - Lets users instantly suspend their account to stop suspicious activity
- Money Lock - Secures a portion of wallet funds in GSave partner banks
- Subscription Center - Users can view and unlink merchants or apps tied to their GCash account.
All these safeguards are consolidated in one place, making it faster and simpler to act when risks arise.

Lock My Account works like a kill switch—logging out all sessions, blocking outgoing transactions, and freezing account changes even if the phone is stolen. Reactivation requires enhanced authentication through Gigi, GCash's AI assistant, ensuring stolen credentials alone can't unlock accounts.
The Subscription Center adds transparency by showing linked merchants and enabling real‑time disconnection to stop future charges.
Meanwhile, Money Lock ring‑fences savings within GSave, keeping funds safe but accessible when needed.
The hub also consolidates device management, authentication settings, and security education resources for a more streamlined experience.
GCash's new Security Center is part of its push to give users stronger safeguards, following recent moves like in‑app OTPs, blocking fraudulent merchants, and cracking down on quishing and fake sites.
The hub went live in June 2026 and is now available in the GCash app, where users are urged to review linked accounts, update security settings, and activate these tools to keep transactions secure.
The update is aligned with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas' AFASA mandate; the Security Center strengthens defenses against scams and unauthorized access.
