More powerful options for chips

Qualcomm has confirmed that it will unveil two Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips at its upcoming Snapdragon Summit, following months of rumors suggesting the company would introduce dual flagship SoCs rather than a single chip.

The confirmation came today via a teaser posted on the company's X account, which read: "Two changes the game", "Opportunity doubled", "Dual 8 Elites."

While Qualcomm has not yet confirmed official names for the two chips, industry speculation points to a standard and "Pro" variant.

The presumed Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro are scheduled to be unveiled on September 22 at the Snapdragon Summit, the company's annual event where it typically debuts its top-tier mobile processors ahead of their integration into flagship smartphones from partners such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus.

Ahead of the official announcement, a leaked AnTuTu 11 benchmark result for the Pro variant surfaced online, showing a score of 4,835,412 points.

Both upcoming SoCs are expected to be manufactured using a 2nm process, a step up in fabrication technology from previous generations.

If Qualcomm follows its usual pattern, additional details—including official branding, pricing, and design partner devices—are likely to emerge in the weeks leading up to the Summit.
