Confirmed: HONOR Magic V6, the "extra-durable fold," is coming to the Philippines on August 18

HONOR today confirmed that the HONOR Magic V6 is officially coming to the Philippines on August 18.

The HONOR Magic V6 is the company's ultra-thin 2026 flagship book-type foldable smartphone boasting an extra-durable build.

When opened

To recap, this is the first foldable smartphone in the world to feature both IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance ratings, allowing it to survive 1.5 meters of freshwater submersion for about 30 minutes and survive even hot water jets.

The foldable also has the HONOR Super Steel Hinge for long-term durability, tested for up to 500,000 folds, and HONOR Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield on the cover screen to prevent unwanted hairline scratches and minimize the risk of cracking when dropped.

HONOR made this possible despite its 8.75mm thinness when folded and 4nm thin when unfolded.

Back design and the cover screen

The main display features a reinforced ultra-thin glass (UTG) protected 7.95-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED panel with 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and 2K 2352 x 2172 resolution, 5,000 nits peak brightness,  anti-reflection layer, and a 44 percent reduction in crease depth compared to previous generations.

When folded, it has a 6.52-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen w/ 1-120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and up to 6,000 nits peak brightness.

Both screens have stylus support. Both the folding and cover screens also have a 20MP selfie camera.

Inside, it packs the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, and an improved  6,660mAh Si-C (silicon-carbon) battery with 80W wired fast charging, 66W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.

Apart from having strong specs, the HONOR Magic V6 is also equipped with some of the most capable cameras found on a foldable smartphone. It uses a 50MP f/1.6 main camera w/ OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 64MP 1/2-inch sensor 70mm (3x optical zoom) camera.

The phone also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, and runs on Android 16 OS w/ MagicOS 10 skin on top, HONOR Connect on iOS (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch), and Mac integration.

It supports up to seven years of major Android OS upgrades.
