The pinnacle of TV panels in 2026?

Global No. 1 TV panel brand TCL says the technology is designed to make its advancements visible on screen, rather than relying on technical specifications alone.

To recall, TCL C7L features brightness, color accuracy, and gaming-oriented capabilities that the firm says are key upgrades over previous models.

Display technology

TCL's SQD-Mini LED technology uses more precise local dimming zones compared to conventional systems, which the company says improves contrast between bright and dark areas of the screen. 

Inside the SQD-MiniLED

The technology is paired with TCL's Super QLED technology and an Ultra Color Filter Panel, which the company says together improve color accuracy, light control, and overall design. The TV, part of what TCL calls its Precise Dimming Series, incorporates all-domain halo control technology intended to reduce light bleed, using light-emitting chips paired with micro-lenses. 

It also uses a CSOT HVA 2.0 panel combined with a Light and Shadow Control Algorithm, which the company says is designed to improve contrast between light and shadow.

TCL says the C7L's light chip, an update from earlier generations, improves both peak brightness and energy efficiency, which it says allows for clearer rendering of both bright and dark scenes.

For gaming, TCL says the SQD-Mini LED technology is designed to reveal more detail in darker scenes while maintaining color accuracy in brighter areas.

Meanwhile, the TV's sound system was developed in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen, with TCL stating that the audio tuning draws on the audio company's long-standing engineering experience in acoustics.
