Xiaomi today launched two new REDMI phones in the Philippines: the REDMI 17 Series in 4G and 5G.

The REDMI 17 5G (4GB+128GB) is priced at PHP 14,999 with a PHP 13,999 early bird offer.

From October 23 to 31, 2026, eligible REDMI 17 Series buyers can also receive a VIP Card with after‑sales benefits worth up to PHP 21,200.

This includes one free battery replacement within three years, one free screen replacement within two years, one free back cover or camera lens replacement within two years, and a 24‑month quality assurance benefit. Terms and conditions apply, with limited eligibility.

With Dynamic RGB light

The REDMI 17 5G comes in Black, Deep Blue, and Vivid Orange, with the latter sporting a PU leather finish for a softer grip. Adding a playful twist is the Dynamic RGB Light system, which delivers customizable effects for calls, notifications, charging, gaming, and camera use.

In front, the device uses a 6.9-inch Gorilla Glass 7i-protected LCD (IPS) screen w/ 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, FHD+ 1600 x 720 resolution at 254 ppi, and 825 nits of peak brightness.

For unknown reasons, the resolution was downgraded coming from the FHD+ of the REDMI 15 5G last year.

The device is also TÜV Rheinland certified for Low Blue Light (Software Solution), Circadian Friendly, Flicker Free, and DC Dimming.

With a massive 7,500mAh battery

Inside, it is powered by the 5G-ready 2.4GHz 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 octa-core processor with an Adreno GPU. It is paired with 4GB LPDDR4X RAM (w/ up to 12GB Memory Expansion) and 128GB UFS 2.2 expandable storage up to 2TB.

This has different specs from the REDMI 17 5G launched in China.

The battery is upgraded to 7,500mAh, promising up to 28 hours of local video playback, 109 hours of Bluetooth music, and 53 hours of calling.

It also has USB-C 45W turbo charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging, but there is no charger included in the box.

Completing the specs, the device features a 3.5mm headphone jack slot, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1 w/ LDAC support, NFC, and dual nano SIM slots.

The handset runs on Android 16 OS with an improved AI-boosted HyperOS 3 skin.
