OPPO

Among the new Chronos line of SKK, the Ace is the most impressive, value packed as a matter of fact. It's a reason why we find it logical for the company to build up on that momentum and release an updated variant.

Fortunately, they did it as they announced the Chronos Ace+, a handset with identical specs against the regular Ace, but has doulbe the RAM at 2 GB. The best part about it is the price increase is minimal. It's priced at just 2,699 Pesos!

That move is HUGE as it solidified the reputation of the Chronos Ace series of having the best good specs on paper found on a sub-3K smartphone.

Anyway, we have the handset with us right now and lets check if the hype is real.

The improvement in terms of packaging improved a lot coming from the last good SKK we unbox, the legendary Lynx. This time the box of the Chronos Ace+ is simpler and elegant looking.

Upon opening the package, the Chronos Ace+ will immediately show its full design. Then after digging further, we were greeted with a set of impressive freebies for an level phone.

It consist of a 1A USB wall charger, flat micro USB data / charging cables, earphones with mic, and stylish leatherette flip cover case. Apart from that, the brand embedded a layer of screen protector to prevent scratches.

Build Quality / Design

For a sub-3K phone, we love the way SKK Constructed the Ace+. It boast a solid polymer build protected with a back cover case with edgy chamfered edges and Acer Liquid X2 like glass behind. In front the screen is made out of glass.

Checking its toughness, the phone feels like it won't break anytime soon as long as there's proper care. It's also notable that SKK added a flip cover case for added protection and ensure that your phone will last.

The way SKK constructed this is notable!
Checking the design, it slightly reminds me of the Acer Liquid X2. That is just fine as the handset looks handsome for most. I also like that its main camera doesn't protrude that much and it has a stylish glass at the back.

However, it maybe a little too edgy for some due to its unorthodox look. It's also little thicker than my liking and has large screen border bezels. The gap between the glass and the actual screen is visible as well.

Anyway, considering that this is an entry level phone with great specs, its aesthetics is still better than most handsets in the same price range.

For its ergonomics, we find quite surprising that the phone is quite nice to hold considering that its shape doesn't have much soft curves. At 5 inch, it is decent for one handed use and packed with okay ports and button placements.

Out of the box, we think that it takes impressive photos for an entry-level device. There's plenty of details and it didn't look as grainy as expected. We were also able to get Instagram ready stills with good amount of saturation and color pop.

As of the moment

The Chronos Ace+ comes with the same level of excitement we had when we first saw the Lynx. Initially, we think that SKK did a great job with this handset as we're pleased with the way they presented the package, its build, and hardware.
