WHYLAB: 12 best flagships in terms of battery performance (H2 2018)

WHYLAB by Zealer recently conducted a test among 12 popular flagship smartphones of 2018 to check who has the best battery life.

The phones tested are the Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P20, Vivo NEX S, Smartisan R1, Black Shark, OPPO Find X, OnePlus 6, Xiaomi Mi 8, Samsung Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S9, Mi Mix 2s and HTC U12+.

Most of those modern flagships are powered by the Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor by Qualcomm. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ goes with an Exynos SoC, but their US variants are running with Snapdragon 845 as well.

On the other hand, the Huawei P20 series are powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC with dedicated NPU.

Anyway, according to the test that WHYLAB conducted, the Huawei P20 Pro and P20 has the best battery performance among the twelve. The P20 Pro is equipped with a 4,000mAh battery while the P20 loads with 3,400mAh.

Here are the three tests made by WHYLAB

5-hour battery life (including 10 tests) - The top ranking Huawei P20 Pro still has 57 percent remaining battery while the HTC U12+ at the bottom only has 30 percent left.

0-100 full charge time - The Huawei P20 only needed 75 minutes while the HTC U12+ clocked 115 minutes to charge.

8 hours standby power - Both the P20 Pro and P20 are left with 100 percent juice while the Xiaomi MI MIX 2S are left with 88 percent.

This test showed that the P20 series are more than just a high-end camera phone.

We also have to note that the Vivo NEX S, Black Shark, OPPO Find X, and OnePlus 6 all did well too.
